Java and Bedrock: one player instead of two

Last updated October 21, 2026

Play Java at your desk and Bedrock on the couch? Then you can link your accounts. If you only play one edition, you don't need this.

What changes

Same name, same skin, same whitelist spot, and the inventory from your Bedrock sessions carries over. You'll appear under your Java name wherever you play.

How to link

Open https://chunklink.dev/go/link and sign in with Microsoft. If you don't have a Chunklink account yet, signing in creates one.

  • Java and Bedrock on one Microsoft account: signing in finds both names and links them automatically.
  • Two Microsoft accounts: the page gives you a code. Join any Chunklink server from the other Microsoft account and type /link <code> in chat.

If your other name already has its own Chunklink account, we ask before doing anything. Its servers, worlds, and an active subscription then move over.

Linking is permanent. Java and Bedrock can't be split apart again afterward.

For server owners

Once linked, the player carries a "Java + Bedrock" badge in your player list. If someone on your server plays both editions, send them https://chunklink.dev/go/link.
